Mt. Hermon, Seven San Diego and the Padres

We are headed to Mt. Hermon in Santa Cruz, CA. This is a trip we look forward to every year. www.mounthermon.org. We will be there for a week listening to good speakers, hanging out with good friends and enjoying the services of Mt. Hermon's children's programs and taking in the cool coastal weather we find there each year.

When we return we will be in more than full swing looking toward the launch of Seven San Diego on October 7th. Sure hope you can make it to this historical launch. Take a look at our brand new website which is due to be completed any moment now. www.sevensandiegochurch.com.

Here are a few of the things coming up for us at SevenSD. Portable church will visit us on Aug. 9 and 10. If you haven't heard of them check out their website at www.portablechurch.com. So far, we plan to use their services to help make us more efficient as a nomadic church.

We have partnered with Diversified Realty Investments to help us locate office space for Seven San Diego. This is a company that focuses on helping churches find property. It is their ministry and they have a great story of how God led them to do this, and we are glad to be able to partner with them. Hopefully, within the next two weeks we will have our offices located in Otay Ranch.

My Padres, Oh My Padres...Well they made a trade, and they traded one of our best, Scott Linebrink whom I had (along with about 100 other people) breakfast with last week. He is a strong believer with a fantastic testimony of how the Lord is working in his life. The Picture is of Scott Linebrink and myself at the breakfast which was held at Green Valley Church in Rancho Bernardo.

Just for good measure I'll show you the pictures of Josh Bard (Padres catcher) and Adrian Gonzalez (Padres 1st Baseman) both of whom also have strong testimonies for the Lord.

According to several sources this trade is a very good one. However, as is the case with all trades you have to wait and see. We received three very good prospects from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Linebrink. One of the prospects is Joe Thatcher who came in the game last night and had a 1,2,3 inning...a great start for his Major League debut. The Pads continue to make trades to try to strengthen the team for the long haul as we go for our third straight division title (that's for all you Dodger fans)!!

Keep us in your prayers as we continue to see improvement for Janie's mom Carol. Progress is slow but sure. Thanks for walking with us through it all.

  1. Jeremy,I was googling “seven san diego” because I really wanted an update on how things were going down there. I didn’t see a website yet, but I found this page. I don’t attend HDC/7 on a regular basis anymore because I am at college and away from home (though I catch all of the podcasts!). Hearing about this dream, to build a church in San Diego, got me pumped, but I felt a little out of the loop not knowing how things were going. Thanks for blogging about these matters so that those of us who care and are curious can find frequent updates and know how best we can be praying for this exciting ministry.God Bless Seven San Diego!!!!

  2. we want some more blogging, pics and stuff….tell that wife of yours that i say hello and i miss her. give those boys hugs for me…
