Don’t you love the wonder of Christmas? The lights, sights, sounds, tastes, expectation–Christmas is an exciting time! At Skyline Church especially, it's a beautiful time of year. We go all out this time of year at our Christmas Eve Services!

Around the world, in different countries, people commemorate the birth of Jesus in several different ways. Some celebrate with calendars, wreaths, candles, gifts, and more. The origins of the advent calendar are hard to discern however the meaning is clear. It is a time to focus on the coming of the Lord, both His first and His anticipated second coming. The word Advent means "arrival" or "coming." Often there are times of fasting, prayer, singing, and lighting of the advent candles. It's a time to especially focus on the wonder of our Lord Jesus Christ and all He did for us in coming to Earth. This is something I love to dig into in my Christmas sermon series, Wonder. This Christmas, we're starting a NEW sermon series called very simply, Christmas at Skyline. Join us at Skyline Church all month long as we dive into our Christmas teaching series.

The whole idea of Christianity is this idea of Love–that we would become a more loving community. But the only way to do that is by having more of Jesus in our lives.
