McGarity Family Update: Focused On Winning This Battle

Dear Skyline Church Family,
As many of you know, in October of last year, my wife Janie, was diagnosed with cancer.
This journey has required much strength, faith, and attention. After much prayer and consideration, and with the support of the Skyline staff and Local Board of Administration, I believe that taking time away temporarily to be fully present with her is the right path.
This decision was not taken lightly or without consideration. But I am brought back to our word of the year, “wisdom” and I know that the wisest decision I can make is to focus on my family and take a sabbatical as lead pastor.
Since Janie’s diagnosis, I have considered taking some extended time away, and God is prompting me that the time is now. This time will allow me to provide the care and support my wife needs in the coming months.
The sabbatical will begin on November 18, 2024, with an anticipated return in mid-March. I am confident in our Skyline staff’s ability to continue moving forward in our mission.
I know the church family will rally together to continue
helping people find and follow Jesus seven days a week. We have prayerfully chosen a group of phenomenal guest and staff speakers to bring you the Word and take us through the Christmas season and into the New Year.
I am grateful for the understanding, prayers, and support of each of you during this season. Janie and I deeply appreciate how you have walked with us on this journey so far, many of you providing words of encouragement and faithful prayers. We will continue to receive messages and support to the email we provided in previous updates,
care@skylinechurch.org. I look forward to returning with renewed energy as my wife and I both find strength in God’s grace and prepare to serve again at the best church in the world.
In Christ,
Pastor Jeremy McGarity

Jeremy, Janie and family,
The Meridian Baptist Church family will be praying for you.
Praying for Janie, and all that are close to her.
We are praying for you and your family. We love you guys!
I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch. This is the first that I’ve heard of this, and I wish to express my sincerest condolences. But also, I wish to offer some insight into the battle that Janie is facing… My dad has long studied the human body and its response to disease including Cancer specifically. He developed a mineral regimen to combat and defeat Cancer in conjunction with traditional medicine or entirely on its own. You can find it on his friend’s website http://www.choosetobehealthy.com
I can also add you to his private FB group “Not a Doc & Not a Nurse” if you would like. Please reach out anytime if you would like to discuss these options. I will keep you all in prayer.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family 🙏🙏🙏
My husband and I are with you in this battle God’s grace, mercy , love ,strength envelops you and Janie. Our Lord God be glorified.
Jeremiah 30:17 in Other Translations
17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Hello Jeremy,
Praying for God’s healing intervention for Janie – miracles, breakthroughs, and blessings in the name of Jesus Christ. Praying for you, too, Jeremy. Just about every time I drive by Skyline, which is often, I thank God for your ministry and pray for God’s blessing and continued anointing to win people to Jesus. Cheri and I had not heard about Janie’s and your battle until today, and you can rest assured that we will be holding you up in fervent prayer until God brings you through to victory.
Our son Pastor Billy Ford’s wife Denise is also battling cancer. She has a serious surgery coming up soon.
Love and blessings,
Clay Ford (and Cheri)
Greetings Pastor Jeremy and family,
I watch your church service via livestream, and have visited Skyline Church once because I live a few hours from San Diego.
However, I will be praying for you and your family in these times of testing. And we await to hear the testimony of God’s faithfulness as a result of this test. Remember, this too, will pass. We know that you are a true servant of God. So continue seeking, serving, and trusting.God gives grace and strength when the burdens get greater. Recall the goodness of God – day and night. And enjoy the gentle bliss of the Lord. God has blessed! Praise Jesus!
God is with you all.
I hope and pray that your Janie come through this . May the Lord continue to work through Janie and the family.
Wise, indeed.
We’ll keep the cross lit while you’re gone.
While it is heartbreaking to hear of your wife’s condition, I am happy to hear you are taking time away to minister to your wife and family, which are your primary responsibility. We will continue praying for you both, as we have been doing. I believe this will be good for you both but will also set the example to the men of the church on how to prioritize needs of the family.
wise, indeed.
prayers continue.
Praying with you for God’s healing touch for Janie. Isaiah 41:10

Lord I ask that you bless this family with Health and Healing 10 fold during this time. The McGarity family and Skyline church have been a true blessing to our family and are what brought us back to Christ last year during a Facebook live of the Christmas Service. God I ask that you provide them with the guidance for Janie’s cancer recovery and the ways she should heal her body. Allow Pastor Jeremy to rest, recover, and be present mentally and physically with his family during this time. We know he is a strong disciple of yours Lord and that he is passionate about being a fisher of men, allow him to come to peace with needing to be amongst family during this time. Lord I thank you for all that you do here on earth. In Jesus name. AMEN.
Janie,
This is tough news. As I take a breath to deal with what I’ve just learned, I’m thinking of my times helping your Mom and Dad. I was honored to drive them to the airport for their journey to the Anderson Cancer Center many times. They had joy in their hearts when most would be full of despair. I learned from Dr. Bernie Segal years ago, that the mind controls the body. I’ve witnessed it first hand. My prayer for you and your family is to remember the joy your Mom and Dad shared with me and countless others. The mind controls the body. God’s got this and so do you.
I wish you and your family thousands of wonderful joyful days long into the future.

Praying for healing, wisdom, and peace for all of you as you navigate this journey.
I have been going to Skyline for many many years. I couldn’t wait to go to church on Sunday.. I hold so many memories of it.
When pastor Jeremy came he is so wonderful to listen. Every time
I Saw him,and heard him Worship, I felt My mind was more open.
He really really makes me understand so clearly. Of all the years
I went through, Pastor Jeremy was the one I needed to listen
Even more.. Now I no longer go at all. The reason is because I moved out from California. But I’m so glad that I still listen to Jeremy. I truly Am a believer of God 🙏. Where I live now, it’s been hard on me to find a church. Thank goodness for all the
Times i heard from him. I have my moments at times and it’s
Hard for me too move on. I lost My Parents and others in
My family. But I turned to GOD WHEN I’M IN NEED of him.
Pastor Jeremy, I am so thankful to you. I miss the Services
On Sunday ‘s May the Lord Bless you and your family.
